Does Screwtape.ai store the outputs I send it?
Does Screwtape.ai store the outputs I send it?
No. Judged content isn't stored unless you set retain: true and authenticate with an API key, and retained calls expire after 24 hours. Keyless (x402) calls can't retain at all.
Example
# opt in for one call
curl -s https://screwtape.ai/v1/judge -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCREWTAPE_API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"task":"State the crew size.","agent_output":"The crew size was 4.","retain":true}'
# list, then delete
curl -s https://screwtape.ai/v1/retention -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCREWTAPE_API_KEY"
curl -s -X DELETE https://screwtape.ai/v1/retention/<id> -H "Authorization: Bearer $SCREWTAPE_API_KEY"The retention object in every response says whether the call was stored (retained, plus id and expires_at when it was, or reason when it wasn't). retain must be a boolean; anything else is rejected. DELETE /v1/keys/me deletes the key hash, counters, payment records and retained judgments.
FAQ
What does Screwtape store about my key?
Only the key's SHA-256 hash, not the key itself.
Where does judged content go when a model is used?
To the configured model provider for that request. See https://screwtape.ai/privacy/.
What is stored for x402 payments?
Per the privacy page, the payment nonce and payer address, for up to 48 hours, to reject replays.
